In 2019, RS&F celebrated 40 years of business as one of the premier business consulting and accounting firms in the Mid-Atlantic region. As the end of the year approaches, RS&F marks 40 years with 40 tips for success! Check out these tips from our outstanding team.
40 Tips for 40 Years!
1. Do what hasn’t been done.
2. You take the credit, we process the debit.
3. Only accountants can save the world…Through peace, goodwill, and reconciliations!
4. For new entrants to the workforce: do not take anything personal, do not be afraid to ask questions, and ask for criticism in order to evolve your work ethic.
5. Always be open to new opportunities when offered.
6. Invest in yourself.
7. Develop a “give to get” philosophy – it will pay off.
8. The “Power of Nice” works.
9. Know when to call it a day. Often, you need to step away from a spreadsheet or challenging task and reset for the next day.
10. If you are unhappy with something, realize that you have three options: accept it, leave it or change it.
11. Leverage the power of the cloud by catching up on work tasks during down time (such as waiting for others) instead of checking Facebook.
12. Understand that you will never grow if you don’t allow yourself to be vulnerable and move out of your comfort zone.
13. Always maintain a growth mindset.
14. The ability to adapt and be flexible will be a big contributor to your success.
15. Understand the difference between being a boss and a leader.
16. All other things are equal, hard work can always be a differentiator.
17. Debits must equal credits, and your trial balance must net to zero.
18. Understand that technical expertise alone is not nearly as powerful as technical expertise combined with emotional intelligence.
